Sash Windows
Traditional slide and sash timber windows are a prominent feature in many listed and protected buildings in Ireland. However over the years many have become unusable, this may be due to broken sash cords, excessive paint or timber decay.
Seamus Friel and Sons Ltd have restored some of the oldest windows in the northwest, some well in excess of one hundred years old. We work closely with conservation architects and local area conservation officers to provide the best possible result for the building.
We also provide a full draught proofing service to traditional sash windows. This service greatly reduces heat loss through windows while ensuring smooth operation. It is of great importance to conserve as much of the original window and glass as possible while restoring it to the original state.
